Background
The recruitment profession is undergoing transformation currently with bigger firms losing market share due to their traditional high fee regime. Private sector companies and public sector organisations are looking for more cost effective solutions, often doing it themselves with a variety of success rates! As a profession, we have truly "self-sabotaged" by not necessarily meeting the market and adjusting our service offerings.
This is something we have done over the years, being amongst the first to adjust our fees downwards, coinciding with pioneering and promoting a remote business model that supported these changes. Little or no overheads means lower fees can be charged, something we have been doing since establishment.
About Us:
We are a team that has been active in the recruitment sector for between 15 and 40+ years, so have a wealth of experience to share! And we have worked together in different iterations during this time. We'd like to add to the team in preparation for what we believe will be a “re-engaged” 2025!
TalentNow was established 18 years ago, and pioneered the remote-virtual business model before the “WFH way” became part of the business norm. We all operate from home offices and work the hours to suit individual lifestyle and other activities. We deal with some of NZ's largest public and private sector organisations and have a healthy mix of contract and permanent business that shifts with the business environment. Our market is from middle management upwards, and across all professional and commercial disciplines.
About the Opportunity:
During the last month or so, there seems to be an uptick in business, and we would like to expand the team in anticipation of this.
You'll need to be an experienced Recruiter (mandatory), most likely having gained that experience by working for an external consultancy or agency. You may even have been on your own and finding it tough without the collegiality, database, and networking capability.
This is an opportunity to have the best of both worlds - flexibility to work as you want, but with colleagues to work alongside who are there to support each other. And you retain a high percentage of the fees you generate - a bit like a franchise model without the control and hidden costs of that model.
About You:
As well as your recruiting experience and recruiting capability, there are some factors and “traits” that will make you successful in this type of environment. You'll need to:

likely have at least 10 years experience in recruitment

be self-disciplined and not easily distracted

have experience in sales and business development, and not be “call reluctant”

be strong in relationship management as relationships and trust in recruitment can take time
-
be financially secure, because like any self-employment opportunity, it can take a moment or two to generate revenue
-
work from home and have the the right technology
-
have a balance in your life and perhaps even have other personal or business interests alongside this work
Please note that this is a role that requires experience as a recruiter, not someone who has done recruitment as part of a wider HR role. It is unlikely internal recruitment will have given you the business development experience you will need to be successful as an external recruiter.
