We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and manage operational security services in Christchurch, and the territory includes Timaru and the West Coast.
This is a senior, hands-on management role in a fast-paced, people-intensive environment where service reliability, customer confidence, and operational discipline are critical.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will lead day-to-day security operations, ensuring teams are performing at their best and sites are fully staffed and compliant. You will drive Health & Safety initiatives, resolve operational issues, and deliver exceptional service to clients while managing resources efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage supervisors and operational teams across Christchurch.
- Ensure sites are fully manned, rostered, and compliant.
- Drive Health & Safety, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with clients and local stakeholders.
- Oversee operational budgets, resources, and reporting.
What We Are Looking For:
You are a commercially minded operational manager with deep local knowledge of Christchurch/Canterbury and a strong network of business and stakeholder relationships. You thrive in rostered or 24/7 operations, putting customers first while leading teams confidently and managing performance effectively. You bring a practical, solutions-focused approach, calm problem-solving under pressure, and solid computer skills.
Key Attributes:
- Proven experience in managing operational teams and 24/7 rostered services.
- Strong customer-focus with excellent relationship and issue-resolution skills.
- Confident people leadership with performance management capability.
- Practical, solutions-oriented approach under pressure.
- Strong local knowledge of the Christchurch / Canterbury market
- An established network of local business and stakeholder relationships
- Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Security industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
Requirements
- Current NZ Driver Licence
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Licence (COA)
- Full vetting clearance
- First Aid Certificate (preferred)
