This is a unique opportunity to support a newly established function responsible for the national coordination of the replacement of priority clinical equipment across New Zealand.

The operating model, processes and governance arrangements are already in place. Your role is to maintain operational continuity, coordinate engagement and activity, and keep the programme moving.

You will play a central role in ensuring equipment requests are appropriately triaged, information is available for timely decisions, and emerging issues are addressed without delay and engaging with a range of regional delivery teams.

What you will be doing

• Coordinate incoming equipment replacement requests and maintain visibility of priorities, approvals and delivery progress nationally.
• Work closely with regional delivery managers and the national team to triage requests, prepare supporting information and facilitate timely discussions.
• Coordinate regular review forums, document decisions, track actions and ensure matters requiring escalation receive appropriate attention.
• Monitor funding allocations, expenditure, commitments, purchase orders and available budgets.
• Maintain accurate spreadsheets, programme trackers, management reports and forecasts.
• Identify emerging operational issues, follow up outstanding actions and help apply established decision-making principles consistently.
• Maintain reliable programme information and support the smooth operation of this important national function.

Location

Proximity, responsiveness and timely collaboration are important to the success of this assignment. As it is a dynamic, ever-changing operational environment, we need the Project Lead to be part of the complex conversations and ‘keep their finger on the pulse'. We envisage 3-4 days per week in the office.

What you need to bring

You are a seasoned and experienced project delivery, programme coordination or operational professional who enjoys being hands-on, bringing structure to complexity and keeping things moving.

• Strong coordination, administrative and delivery skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond quickly as circumstances change.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and advanced Excel capability.
• Experience with financial tracking, reporting, governance and action management.
• Confidence engaging with clinical, operational, financial and senior stakeholders.
• Sound judgement, initiative and the ability to work independently while remaining closely connected to the wider team.

A clinical background combined with project management or delivery experience would be particularly valuable. Experience in healthcare, clinical engineering, medical equipment, asset management, procurement or capital planning would also be advantageous.

You don't need to be a technical expert across every equipment category. What matters is your ability to understand requests, bring the right information together, support timely decisions and ensure actions are followed through.

Power BI experience is desirable but not essential.

This is not a programme redesign or strategic investment leadership role. It's an opportunity for a capable delivery professional to step into an established function, maintain momentum and provide confidence that critical work continues seamlessly throughout the contract.
